Fun for the whole family

We went to ITZ (pizza and arcade games) for a night of family fun. Of course we couldn't let the kids have all of the fun. We had met some friends of ours there and us girls couldn't resist Dance Dance Revolution. This game had been out for a long time but it was new to us. We had so much fun. By the time we left we were sweating from all of the exercise.

After a little convincing we got the boys to try a game too. They put up a little fight but it looks like they were having fun to me.

Of course we went there for the kids to have fun so I guess I should post there pictures as well. Dylan and Jordan on a roller coaster

My house is a zoo

The boys are out of school for fall break and I managed to make it through week one without seriously injuring them! I just have to make it thru this week and then they are off to school again on Monday. We were really lucky last week because the weather was so nice. We were able to go the park a few times and they could run around the backyard instead of bouncing off the walls in the house. We were not so lucky today. It has been pretty cold the last couple of days and today was no different. The high is in the low 40's, which meant the boys had to find fun things to do inside. Lucky for me they have entertained themselves quite well today. They had a couple of friends over and broke out the plato table. They spent a couple of hours working on there big creation. For those that can't tell what it is (c'mon I thought it was obvious!) they built there very own zoo. Just for your clarification there is an alligator, turtle, bear, fish and a hippo just to name a few. They had a lot of fun and were quite disappointed when it was time to clean up and they realized they could not keep the zoo in the middle of the kitchen floor.

Fun times!

Time to clean up!!

To Much of a good thing?

It's hard for me to believe but our sweet baby girl is six weeks old today. She is such a good baby. As some of you may or may not know, when the boys were baby's they were not so good. In fact I would venture to say the were horrible! That's not to say we didn't love them just the same, they just tried our patience much more. If they weren't crying they were sleeping. It was one or the other, nothing in between. Ally is quite the opposite of them. Not only does she LOVE to sleep, when she is awake she is usually all smiles. She slept for 8 hours straight last night. Not only does she sleep all night, she sleeps most of the day away also! I do ask myself every once in awhile is it really normal for a baby to sleep this much? Of course then I come to my senses and decide I should just be thankful for it!! Below are some pics of her doing what she loves most...sleeping!!!
Ally doing what she loves most!

When she isn't sleeping she's all smiles!!

Of course all of that smiling is tiring, off to sleep again!

Sibling Rivalry

It was a cold and rainy day today, but the boys had a soccer game this afternoon. So it was a girls day in to stay warm. The boys are playing soccer together for the first time this year and the inevitable finally happened. Jaxon told Dylan how much better he was than him at soccer. As a parent I realize what a dilemma that creates so I focused on telling them what things they are individually good at. Dylan has great footwork and is a very good passer when he wants to be. Jaxon is very fast and plays outstanding defense. I told them that we would see who scored more goals and we would see who had a better day. Wouldn't you know they both scored a goal today and played very evenly. If only I could get this competition to transfer over to something constructive like cleaning their room.

Now Where Did I put my Sea Legs?

I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Cabo last weekend to celebrate the 40th birthday of one of my best friends. After realizing that babies require passports and that Ally and Sommar would be unable to attend I bit the bullet and officially became a 5th wheel. I was there with a couple that I have known 10 years and a couple that I had never met. The cool thing was they did a great job of making me feel comfortable not having my wife there, it would have been even more fun with Sommar there but I survived a vacation in Mexico. We had a boys day out at sea, deep sea fishing on a 32' boat. I quickly realized that my childhood dreams of being a pirate would never come true as I laid in the small cabin of the ship for four hours after dry heaving for an hour on deck. Welcome to sea sickness. Let it be known that I still had a blast and I caught a Dorado, all in all we took home 2 Dorado and 1 Marlin.
