I've become one of "those" people

O.K. so up until about a month ago I had never used a coupon in my life. Some friends of mine started a "coupon club" so I decided to go and check it out. Let's just say I was really impressed. I found out that you can always get toothpaste and deodorant for free and you can always get cereal for less than a dollar a box!! Crazy -huh- Anyway I have definitely saved A LOT of money this month using coupons. Here's just a few of the deal I have got in the last week.

So now I will never make fun of those people in line who have coupons because I am one of them now!!!

Boy's Night Out

The boys and I went to Breckenridge this last week to see one of our favorite bands. There was a concert at the city auditorium as Breckenridge was celebrating their 150 anniversary as a town and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers were the headlining act. Roger Clyne was the lead singer of the band the Refreshments in the 90's and went on to form the Peacemakers after that. The Peacemakers are one of the few things other than family, friends and ASU football games that make me homesick as they are an Arizona based band. When we saw that they were playing in Breckenridge at a family friendly show it was a great opportunity for the boys to go to their first concert, and they love the Peacemakers. We drove up to Breckenridge and got in there early in the afternoon. After checking into the hotel we went downtown to walk around and get some dinner. We found a Mexican restaurant and decided that we would eat there. We were sitting out on that patio but went in to wash our hands, as we were heading back to our table a man noticed my ASU hat and said hey I went to ASU. I said I know we are here to see you, I introduced Dylan and Jax to Roger Clyne. It was very cool experience, he shook their hands and told us to enjoy the show. We got to the show early and it was open seating so we ended up right up front. The boys made their way to the stage and we stood with them leaning up against the stage for the entire show. I hope the boys understand how unique an experience that they had at their first concert. After the show Roger Clyne was very gracious and stayed and took pictures with many of the fans and their kids including Dylan and Jaxon. He evened asked us how our dinner was at the Mexican restaurant which I thought was cool that he remembered us. When we were leaving Jaxon gave him a high five and told him peace and that his band rocked. Roger told Jackson that he was a really cool kid and to keep on rocking. All in all it was a great experience that I was happy to have enjoyed with my boys.

Birthday Time

It's hard to believe that it's already been 8 years since Dylan was born. We are so proud oh him and the example that he is to his brother and sister. He will be getting baptized in Arizona in July so that our family and friends there will be able to Join us. We are grateful for all of those that have been good influences to him from his primary teachers to our dear friends here within our ward family. His birthday party was close to my heart, it was a bug themed party. We made a centipede cake and played bug themed games. Here are the pictures of the happy eight year old.

Boys Time

The older the boys get the more I enjoy the summer. We make an effort to get out and spend some time together and have a least a few "Boys Days". I am not sure who looks forward to these days more the boys or their mother. We took a hiking trip to the Crags a couple weeks ago and hiked for nearly 5 hours. The funny thing is, we have went to hike the Crags now twice and have never actually hiked the right trail. I discovered that the trail we want is actually much shorter and that I have driven past the trail head both times that we have gone out. We end up on a trail called Ring the Peaks and I am not completely sure that this trail actually ends. Either way the boys and I have a good time and it allows us a lot of time to just talk.

I asked Brandon to give Jax a haircut and this is what he ended up with.

Of course I had to be the bad guy and explain that he was not going to school with his hair looking like that. In the end the compromise was he would get the rest of his hair cut now but he would be allowed to have a Mohawk sometime during the summer. In the end everyone was happy.

On the move

Well Ally is 8 months old now and she doesn't sit still for long anymore. It's crazy how one day she is perfectly happy sitting and playing with her toys and the next she is crawling and trying to stand up everywhere. We have also moved on to the lovely stage of her putting everything in her mouth. Luckily she has not swallowed anything bad (that we know of!) but some of the stuff that has gone in has been pretty gross. One incident was particularly bad and Brandon told me I was not to write about it on the blog. Sorry for the tease!! She now has 4 teeth and weighs around 18 pounds. She is getting bigger everyday it seems in turn our love for her grows each day. The boys still adore her although she is not always as willing to return the affection to them. I have won the award for worst mother of the year. I took Jax to the doctor because he had some bumps on his skin that have been there for several weeks. For those who know Jax his skin is horrible because of his eczema so the bumps were not that surprising to begin with. Anyway I took him in the the good news was the bumps turned out to be nothing and the doctor said they will go away on there own. Then the doctor proceeded to tell me that Jax had two raging ear infections. He couldn't believe how bad his ears looked and he looked straight at me and said " Hasn't he been complaining about his ears hurting." I wish he would have because I wouldn't have looked so dumb!!! Not only does he have double ear infections his lungs sounded wheezy so Jax has had to have two breathing treatments a day for the last few days. I think the doctor lost all confidence in my ability to know when my child is sick so we have to go back in two weeks just to make sure the ear infections are gone.

As if that was not bad enough to add insult to injury we went to pick up his medicine and the medicine for his ears cost $50 and that with insurance!!! Let's just say it was not a good day!!!!
